Fantasy Hockey Waivers (2/7)

G Kieth Kinkaid (New Jersey Devils): Starting goaltender has been dealing with a groin injury for a few weeks now, and Kinkaid has stepped up to be the undisputed starter. Expect Eddie Lack to start a few games, but Kinkaid should pick up the bulk of the work in Schneider’s absence.

F Yanni Gourde (Tampa Bay Lightning): Gourde has been the beneficiary of playing for an offensively gifted Lightning team, as he has 38 points on the year. Recently, Gourde has been hot streak, putting up 8 points in his last 6 contests. There is no reason to think Gourde’s productivity will slow down drastically, as the Lightning have obviously proven they can score in bunches on a consistent basis.

G Brian Elliot (Philadelphia Flyers): Elliot has show extreme promise at times, but remains inconsistent. He is boasting a 2.71 GAA, along with a .909 save percentage in 39 games this season. Most fantasy owners are becoming desperate for goaltending, so if you are indeed an owner looking for a ‘home run,’ Elliot could be an unlikely delivery.

C Jason Spezza (Dallas Stars): Spezza might be an interesting player to keep an eye on for those in need of forward depth. Spezza has tallied an assist in three straight games, and if the Stars can play consistently down the stretch, there’s no reason this seasoned veteran shouldn’t be able to produce to at least some degree.

F Travis Konecny (Philadelphia Flyers): Owned by less than half of seasonal leagues, he should be not only be on your radar, but should probably be picked up immediately, at worst case scenario for forward depth. Konecny has 10 points in his last 9 games, including a 6 game point streak (5 goals). This twenty year old is certainly starting to show he can not only score, but he can be a huge offensive contributor on a consistent basis.
